In 2023, Eirik decided to take the company to the next level and employ Anne Bundgaard from Denmark. Anne now manages guest communication and the administrative aspects of the business, allowing Eirik more time to focus on guests. Shortly after, Anne's fiancé Johan Mikkelsen joined the team.
Johan brings over 13 years of experience as a fishing guide, having worked in eight different destinations in Northern Norway, spent two years abroad in Big Game fishing, and led numerous tropical fishing trips around the world. Few have such an extensive and impressive CV as Johan. Together with Eirik and Anne, we can confidently assure you that you are in safe hands, both in terms of safety at sea and in creating unforgettable fishing experiences here at Lofoten Havfiske.

Johan Mikkelsen - Camp Manager and Fishing Guide
Johan has a background in marine biology and further pursued his passion by attending the sportfishing academy in Forshaga. He began working for Nordic Sea Angling, gaining extensive experience during his years in Northern Norway, where he guided at various destinations, including:
- Sørøya
- Havøysund
- Tromsø
- Risøysundet
- Vesterålen
- Værøy
- Å in Lofoten
- Nappstraumen in Lofoten
Johan has participated in several research projects, including tagging halibut for the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research. He also studied Deck Officer (class VII) at Chalmers in Gothenburg, Sweden and is someone who has experienced more than most people at his age. The countless hours spent at sea in all types of weather have made him a confident yet humble individual who prioritizes safety and strives to ensure his guests have a great experience at sea.
In 2013, he started his fishing trips abroad and has been on numerous fishing trips worldwide, both privately and as a tour guide.
In 2014, he kayaked from the Norwegian-Russian border in Jakobselv along the entire coast of Norway, finishing in Strömstad, Sweden where he grew up. An expedition spanning 102 days and covering 3257 km.
He then decided to work in Big Game fishing for 2 years with some of the top captains in Blue Marlin and Bluefin tuna fishing, an experience he brought back to Norway. During the pandemic, he found his love in Bodø, Anne Bundgaard, and not long after, little Hugo came into the world. Now, they work together, and Hugo runs on the dock, fishes for crabs, and curiously watches all the big catches brought in by our guests.
